Sézane
Sézane, the little label driving the web wild. An online boutique and some fifty limited edition models per collection are all that sums it up. But at the age of just 30, its designer Morgane Sézalory has over 200,000 loyal online customers and plenty of surprises in store for us yet.
Sézane, the little label driving the web wild. An online boutique and some fifty limited edition models per collection are all that sums it up. But at the age of just 30, its designer Morgane Sézalory has over 200,000 loyal online customers and plenty of surprises in store for us yet.
The story
It all began in 2005, when Morgane's sister moved to London leaving behind bagfuls of clothes she no longer wanted. To make a bit of pocket money, Morgane set about customising and reselling them on eBay.
The venture met with such success that, in 2008, she launched Les Composantes, an e-shop offering vintage pieces alongside her own designs. For want of space on her site, Morgane introduced the idea of micro-collections, later to become Sézane's trademark. In 2013, she decided to concentrate on designing clothes that are a personal reflection of who she is, still selling them exclusively online. And so Sézane – a contraction of her surname and first name – was born.
Sézane today
Sézane has now opened the Apartment in Paris, a showroom allowing customers to view collections before buying them online.
On the agenda, trying on items before they go on sale on the e-shop, free deliveries when ordering on the spot and a gift shop with candles, stationery and jewellery.
The key pieces:
Morgane Sézalory's label is a goldmine. Each collection is synonymous with new edgy pieces, like the Clark and Claude bags or Officer ankle boots.
